HOW SVAROOPA® YOGA IS DIFFERENT

Svaroopa® translates to “the bliss of your own being.” Our practice ensures ‘core opening,’ to help you learn to rest your body, using easier, slower poses presented to release the tension you feel inside your body, whether it’s physical hurting or emotional scars. When you come to a class, you begin the process of this deep healing. Then it carries over into your mind, emerges from your heart, from your heart out into your own life, then expands into the world that surrounds you.

When you are given these tools, you deal with your life better, your relationships at home and at work, you become more content and find you are not looking to outside things to ‘make’ you happy. These changes you begin to notice are long lasting, constant, accessible, and infinite, because they are inside of you. This is Svaroopa® Yoga’s promise.

MiRé is located at 11910 Parklawn Drive, Rockville, with classes held each Weds and Thurs at 10:00 a.m.   Located in the Rendezvous Social Dance and Fitness Center, the new space is conveniently located near Randolph Road at Loehmann’s Plaza, also accessible via Rockville Pike at Nicholson Lane.

 

MiRé is a hatha style of yoga instruction called Svaroopa®, a slower, restful sequence of poses that promotes core opening and muscle release along the spine. While Svaroopa® increases flexibility, strength and improves all the body systems including digestion, it is not considered exercise!

YOGA FOR EVERY BODY

Classes are 60 to 75 minutes and are open to everyone, including beginners.  The twelve themes taught in Svaroopa® Yoga are:  Daily Practice, Lower Spinal Release, Upper Spinal Release, Abs, Backbends, Standing, Forward Bends, Neck and Shoulders, Balance and Inversions, Classical, Vinyasa, and Seated Poses and Twists.  In each class, particular basic poses that provide a reliable release for spinal opening  are taught.

You will be made to feel comfortable, welcome and supported in every way.

MiRé is located inside Rendezvous Social Dance and Fitness Club, 11910 Parklawn Drive in Rockville, Maryland. MiRé is situated South of Randolph Road at Loehmann’s Plaza and accessible from Rockville Pike via Nicholson Lane.  Nicholson Lane becomes Parklawn Drive.  MiRé is less than 1/4 mile from that juncture, on the left side.  Free parking around the building.

Svaroopa® Yoga is all about support for your body, today, as you arrive to class. Blankets, blocks and other props are used to help you rest more comfortably into each pose.  Every class begins with Shavasana and a guided relaxation, followed by the powerful breath practice of Ujjayi Pranayama.  Poses are taught with ease and care as you are precisely aligned in every angle.  You are learning in a comfortable and nurturing space.
